Where can I use my Ethalium email?

You can use it anywhere. In fact, you can feel more comfortable putting your Ethalium email address online knowing that people cannot see your real address.

The first time someone emails your Ethalium mail, they will receive an email that they need to go through a captcha. If you reply to them, they are added to a whitelist for the next 2 months. So people that you reply to can keep writing back without additional hurdles, but people you don't respond to will have to go through hurdles to contact you again.
Absolutely. Just respond to the email from your personal email account. Your identity will be kept safe because the email will appear them as coming from your Ethalium account.
They will see your name. To shorten or abbreviate your name, please add your first name and last name in the settings. If no name is present in the settings, then the name on your personal email account will be sent to the recipient.

How does Ethalium actually keep you safe.

Ethalium greatly reduces phishing. Emails cannot contain links to sites that have not been approved by Ethalium. And emails cannot come from domains that are not approved by Ethalium.
Only individuals who enter a captcha, and corporations verified by Ethalium can send mails. Ethalium uses many techniques to thwart attackers. Throttling emails, requiring a successful track record of sending non-spam messages, feedback from the community, and complex algorithms help us monitor and thwart spam. But remain vigilant, particularly around individuals posing as someone who knows you.
Anyone who sends an email to you on Ethalium must click on a captcha demonstrating that they are a person, not a bot. And they are taking the time to email you, not throwing your name on a list. They get no benefit from sharing your Ethalium mail with the owners of mail lists.

How do I get started?

Just sign up and create an account. It will be linked to your email. It takes 30 seconds. You can start using your new address right away.
Yes. We limit it to 3 per account at the start. But we'll raise that limit as you demonstrate responsible usage of the system.
Yes. Any responses to Ethalium accounts will be routed through Ethalium's servers and will come from your Ethalium address. So you can comfortably email all Ethalium users without them ever knowing your actual email address. You can change your default sending address at any time. If you only have 1 Ethalium email, that is your default.
Yes, they can send you emails with multiple recipients, but they will need to click on a captcha for each recipient. Each recipient will receive an individual copy of the email and will not see the other recipients. This is to prevent emails from mailing lists.
If you are copied on an email (cc), you will receive the email just as if you were a direct recipient. But you cannot receive emails that were sent to you via bcc. This is to prevent emails from mailing lists.

Why Reputation Matters?

Reputation is used for review sites, for social media and for ride sharing. They are critical to improving user experience. Receiving emails from more reputable senders leads to a better and safer email experience.
Senders with better reputations can send more emails per day. And senders with better reputations from public email addresses (like yahoo, gmail and hotmail) can send to more recipients without clicking on captchas.
Senders appreciate when you read their mails. Improved reader reputation demonstrates engagement, and provides the same benefits as sender reputation, less throttling and less captchas.
